Bean's Wheels and weekend

After Vacation, it's always recovery time at our house, meaning lots of laundry, unpacking, and a major grocery store run. Saturday morning the Bean and I headed out to Kroger to get some essentials for the week. On this trip, I decided to let him try something new: The Car cart. It is a big car attached to the front of the grocery cart. He loved it and so did the people at Kroger. Everyone that passed him laughed and he laughed back. He loved beeping the horn and jumping up and down. Thank goodness it had a seatbelt.

I couldn't help but notice it was custom made for him. The rims say "BEAN"! How perfect. All he needs now are some 1o's in the back and good stereo!

Later that day we headed to a birthday party at the Galveston Boat Club. Sara Jolin turned one this weekend! This a rustic, picnic table filled, covered area over on the Bay. It has a baby pool and a big pool and nice bathrooms. That's about it. It's like going to a park but a little nicer. It's the perfect place to pack a cooler and go sit, or pull up by boat if you have one. The kiddos can wear themselves out and the adults can hang out with no fuss. My Charleston peeps would love this place.

On Sunday we decided to try something new and head over to the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Our church changed times from either 7:30 am, or 11am. Since the first is waaaay too early, and the second is waaaay too late, we decide to try the 9am at Holy Rosary.

This church is traditionally a black church, though it is a mixed crowd these days.

You can bet I was sold at the first "amen" that was shouted over the drum set and the KILLER piano man. He had a voice like Ray Charles, used no music, and had the congregation clapping and swaying. We loved it and everyone was very accepting and nice. Several people stopped and said "come back next Sunday".

The Bean wore his Sunday best, a Sailor outfit given to him by Beth's Aunt Peggy. He looked so darling in it I may just have to have his year old pics taken in it.

Today he got another hair cut. I find myself cutting his hair at least every other week. It grows like a weed!

On the agenda for the rest of the week: map out a calender to ensure every day of the summer is spent having fun.
