Living the DREAM

Good Morning America has a contest called "Living the Dream". I realize every day how blessed I am...and while I am not a footless wonder who has a dream of climbing Mt. Everest in the height of winter with only water to drink, a few safety pins, and some duct tape...I have a dream, too. Normally, shows like to pick the people who have fallen on hard times....and rightly so! But can't a lil' ole girl like me win, too? Patton and Carolina say "yes!"

After all, we ALL have mountains to climb. Mine may not seem big to you...yours may not seem big to me...but they are our challenges, right?

So, here's the letter I wrote to GMA. Simple. It had to be under 100 words (Lord, y'all know that was HARD). Don't expect to see me interviewing Diane or wearing Kelly's wardrobe...instead I'll be at home pulling for Suzie Somebody who gets to climb Everest....

With applesauce in my hair, and diapers up to my eyeballs, nothing gets me through my day like ABC. Kelly Ripa, Diane Sawyer, Robin Roberts, Lost, Castle, and DWTS-these are the friends that keep me uplifted and going.

Having two children in two years has pushed ambitions aside so I can be a good wife and mommy.

My dream is BIG & simple: Hosting a segment on one of your shows. Banter with Regis. Butterflies from a live audience. Interview Diane. Trade flip flops for heels. Report from location!

See what I mean? Doesn't exactly tug at the old heart strings. But they asked, and I told it. And managed to slide in how much I love ABC along the way....which I really do. In Charleston I didn't have cable and it's the only channel I got! He, he....
