Today was the first day of school for kiddos near and far. That means Moody Gardens was empty, except for a few lone cars in the parking lot. What a perfect day to go explore the rain forest!
Patton and I loaded up and headed over to Evia to see Daddy first, then we were off to the pyramid. We saw huge birds, who Patton waved his little chubby hands at vigorously. We saw a huge anaconda. We learned about growing chocolate (yum!!!! Mommy had a mini snicker bar after that) in the rainforest and that Christopher Columbus brought it over. He gets credit for a lot around here, huh? We climbed into the photo booth and had fun taking silly picture of ourselves.
After that adventure, we headed to the grocery store. Patton likes riding in the buggy and seeing all his friends there. Now everyone can come to supper at our house.
In other news....
It seems every day someone comes up to me and says something about the little articles in the paper. Today's was about an old rusty anchor that sits at Evia. The comments on the blog are always entertaining, but today's was a favorite:
"Shameless Self Promotion"....posted by "uprising". (http://blogs.galvnews.com/blog.lasso?blog=4e553d87ece4607d )
Well....duh.
Others were just as cynical. It doesn't bother me a bit. I take the bad with the acsinine because more people say nice things than bad. They even got a bit of fan mail at the ole' daily news today. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, "uprising".
