On Friday, the people in Chicago would have been doubled over laughing at Galveston, TX. You would have thought that we had gotten 5 feet of snow, when in fact, we got a little bit of ice, and 25 degree temperatures.
It was debilitating. Our power went out, and we were freezing at 60 degrees in our house. We lit the stove the old fashioned way, boiled water, and took baths in it. I made coffee this way as well.
We also salted our steps, melting the ice and making for safe walking.
I tell you, I was Dr. Quinn, Medicine woman. It was fun for about 2 hours.
At 5pm, when we got power, I was happy to say the least.
