our updates spilleth over

Boy oh boy. If only there were enough minutes in the day to sit here and type out all the pent up stories that are piling up and threatening to overflow out of my little noggin. Alas, there are not. So, until both bean and biscuit are in school 2 days a week (Nooo!!!!! I will miss my days with my la la....but I digress) you will have to be patient with the "adventures of" and just trust that they are "a plenty", mommy just doesn't have the energy, alone time, or sanity to sit and do it every day at the moment. Especially now that the hustle and bustle of this magic season is upon us! Which leads us to....HOLIDAY!!!

The above picture is very dear to me. When the Bean was at TCH for those long 4 months, I lived with my sis in law in Houston in their garage apartment. When December came, she hung a sign on the door handle to the house that said "I believe in miracles" and every day before I went to see Patton, I saw that sign.

Last year for Christmas, she gave me the red sign you see above Patton's head. Therefore, like most pictures, this one is worth way more than a thousand words.

Carolina's outfit is handed down from her friend Lucy. Thank you Lucy!!!! It has proven to be our favorite "come home from church on Sunday and change into" outfit.

This is another hand me down from our friend Sara. I think it's supposed to be on a little baby, but we made a shirt out of it, put it with little shorts and tights, and voila...a cutie patootie. Thank you, Sara!!!

The Nutcracker Ballet and Tea....
All the Grand daughters were invited by Gigi to attend the Houston Ballet's performance of the Nutcracker. Beforehand, we all went to Rudy and Paco's for a tea party. Carolina felt like such a big girl.

Her dress was courtesy of Ella.
(it is important to note we DO have clothes of our own...plenty of them. But when it comes to Holiday dresses, it's best to buy one good one, then borrow the rest because how many times can you justify them wearing a $60 dress??? After Christmas they can't even wear it anymore!)

All the cousins....except for sweet Delaney who stayed home to sleep.

Carolina Leigh meets the Sugarplum Fairy

The LeDucs threw a magnificent cookie party and invited all the kids over to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus. There was a gingerbread house on a little table ready for all the kids to decorate.
I looked over and not only was patton eating hand fulls of sprinkles, icing, and whatever else he could get his grubby little paws on....he was decorating the little boy beside him with a spatula full of icing. The little boy was not pleased.

This past weekend we went to SC, back to the Motherland. We wanted to go to the Lowry's Christmas parade, which usually turns out to be a tailgate/tractor fest. (a good ole fashioned country good time) This year we were rained out. Not to fear, we went to the Hamilton house where we played with Shea, alexis, Beth, Gail, Mary Reames, Sue, and the gang.

old friends....

and their boots. Tommy took this! Ha!

And the toys were dragged......by the chimney with care. In hopes that a nanny soon would be there.

On the way in to Chester, we stopped by Nana and Pappaw's house to have a jam session and lay a little music. Carolina managed to lick every cookie provided by Nana.

Prayer hands. See her saying "amen!"

The boys.

In Chester, Patton had a LARGE surprise waiting for him. Bebo found an old rusted John Deere pedal tractor under a porch (stamped 1978....a good year!!!). He ordered parts, paint, and official stickers and refurbished the whole thing. It was beautiful and Patton was beside himself.

as was sister.

Bebo presents the tractor.

"is this really mine???"

Patton sees it for the 1st time

On the plane coming home. My husband could not seem to keep his wee little eyes open. The bean and biscuit didn't have that problem....

Being tickled by daddy (as the plane was landing)

Being entertained by goldfish and a portable dvd player.
Thank God up above for that thing.

Tonight we went to the Festival of Lights at Moody Gardens.

Since it was 63 degrees, it made it nice for walking!!! The tots were literally mesmerized the entire stroll. It's a good way to let the food settle....
Let the holiday chaos begin! We have a jumpy castle coming on Christmas Eve Day. Hey...there had to be SOME way to entertain them before Santie comes, right?
